In 2017 I co-facilitated afterschool with Zoma Maduekwe. afterschool was a collective learning environment that occurred regularly in subterranean tunnels beneath OCAD University. Imagined as an illegitimate, reconfigurable space designed for the rapid dissemination of embodied knowledge, it was a successful experiment in the creation and transmission of functional, non-institutional information.
afterschool mainly consisted of a series of workshops presented on topics ranging from the mapping and hijacking of institutional resources, using micropayments as a form of reparations and domestic robot factories in Shenzhen, China.
afterschool culminated in an open, 67-person warehouse exhibition designed to collectively skip linear, resource-intensive and hierarchical pathways of distribution.
